HISTORY
ͽ mark was born in ballybeen estate to margaret and davey jackson. he was born at home as his mother hadn't realised she was pregnant, and it was just lucky for the family that their next door neighbour worked as a nurse at the nearby ulster hospital. his parents had been having a rough patch in their marriage, and so they hoped their new son would bring them closer together.
ͽ as time went on mark became the eldest of five, but his parents still hadn't gotten over their rocky patch. between caring for his younger siblings and fighting with each other, mark barely got a look in. young mark was annoyed with this and began to go out drinking. being ballybeen it didn't take long for him to get involved with the wrong people and eventually he joined the paramiliaries. he showed a skill for fighting and after a while became part of a 'punishment squad'. at fourteen mark was involved in a beating that was far more severe than what he was accustomed to. the police were called and while everyone else ran away, mark took on the role of scapegoat, landing himself in more trouble than he could have imagined.
ͽ at fifteen mark was given a six year sentence for attempted murder, four of which he had to spend in the youth justice centre in bangor. the other two years were to be probation which he is currently on. while in the centre mark completed an anger management course, his gcse's and got an nvq2 in youth work. his probation officer has organised for mark to get a volunteer position at the warehouse while he continues training to be a youth worker in an attempt to integrate the teenager back into society. as part of his probation he has to be under constant supervision from leaders at the warehouse. although he is estranged from his family, mark returned to the estate with a welcoming from the paramilitaries, although he no longer is involved with them.
