HISTORY
ͽ Anya Emma Morgan was born on March 30th in a small Maine suburb to her mother and father, Katherine and Joseph Morgan. To this day, her parents blame her "problems" on the fact that her mother let the doctor give her an epidural. She had a pretty happy childhood - her parents were going to homeschool her, but neither of them wanted to give up their jobs, so they sent her to public school. She became friends with a variety of people, the majority of which her parents did not approve of. She had a strong Baptist upbringing, and because of this she feared her own bisexuality untul fifth grade, when she took it upon herself to educate herself on LGTBQ issues. At this point, she decided that her parents must have been mistaken to think that homosexuality was an abomination and she continued to consider herself a Baptist, but moreso going through the motions of faith than legitimately believing in God.
ͽ When Anya was going through puberty, she, like most people, found herself overwhelmed by hormones. However, unlike most people, this terrified her and she tried to keep herself as repressed as possible in order to please her parents. She didn't let anyone touch her in places that were not covered by clothes for fear that she would become one of the uncontrollable sluts that her pastor assured her would be sent straight to Hell when their time came. However, once again, she took the incentive to educate herself, mostly using helpful websites on the internet. According to her parents, her sophomore year of high school was when she went bad. Unfortunately, most of what she learned came from porn, and because her school did not have sex ed, she did not know about condoms or how to prevent a pregnancy. When she was nearly sixteen, she had sex with her boyfriend of four months and got pregnant. Terrified of the consequences and fearing that she could not give her baby a proper upbringing, she got an abortion. Word got out and she was henceforth known around her school as an easy bang. Despite the rumours surrounding her, Anya was concerned with learning more about how to prevent this from happening again. When she got the proper information that she needed, she felt free to have sex again. Her religion still had a fair bit of influence on her life, but she just honestly believed that God did not mind the things that adults said He did.
ͽ One day, her parents found her internet history. And her condoms. And her diary. To say that there was a confrontation would be an understatement. Anya was upset by the fact that her parents had snooped and her parents were upset by, well, everything. In a fit of anger, they shipped her off to her aunt and uncle's house in northern Ireland. She is now the New Girl, and while her relatives are much more strict than her parents, she is determined to make an impression.
